Think about what this verse is saying about you and I when we are saved. Just what the cross means in our lives. We will be celebrating Easter in a few days.  The emblem of the Cross means to the most of us the Power of Christ that He died for us and is alive today.

YES, Christ died for sinners but; there is much more to that is available to through salvation. Salvation—being freed from the penalty of sin-is just the beginning! Not only are our sins forgiven and never to be remembered against us again, but there is so much more that is available to us through salvation.

SALVATION MEANS: rescue, deliverance, help, safety, victory, cause to be free, avenging, defend and preserve, aid, prosperity, health, welfare, saving health, liberty and defense.

 *Rescue:With each temptation He makes a way of escape.

I Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to us all. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

*Deliverance-He delivers us from the snare of the enemy.

Psalms 91:3  Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.

*Help-He is a present help in time of trouble.

Psalms 46:1  God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

* Safety-I lay down in peace and sleep because He makes me dwell in safety.

Psalms 4:8  In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Victory- Death is swallowed up in victory.

Isaiah 25:8 he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken.

*Cause to be free-We are free indeed.

John 4:36 Even now those who reap draw their wages, even now they harvest the crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together.

*Avenging-We can be strong and unafraid because God will avenge and save us.

Isaiah 35:4 …say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”

*Defend and preserve-He defends and preserves us in trouble.

Psalms 32:7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

*Aid-He is our aid and help in trouble.

Psalms 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

*Prosperity-He desires that we prosper.

3 John 1:2 Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.

*Health-By His stripes we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

*Welfare-He is concerned about our well-being and peace.

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

*Saving health-He is the Lord that heals and shields us.

Exodus 15:26 He said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”

*Liberty-The Spirit of the Lord brings liberty.

2Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

*Defense-God is our defense.

Psalms 7:10 My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart.

 If freedom from sin was all that salvation contained, that would be enough. But it isn’t. Salvation is so much more!!!!! God always gives more-He gives above and beyond all that we can ask or think or imagine.

 Closing: ask God to forgive you of sins in your life and trust Him for the benefits that Salvation has brought each of us.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
